Officials from the Katsina State Police Command have apprehended two individuals suspected of car theft and turned down a bribe of one million naira that was offered by the suspects.

On April 11, 2025, at approximately 1500 hours, officers from Border Patrol Zone 4 in Katsina conducted a routine patrol in the vicinity of Birnin Kuka village, Mashi Local Government Area, Katsina State. During this patrol, they signaled a green Toyota Corolla LE, which was being operated by two individuals: Mubarak Kabir, a 26-year-old male, and Adamu Hashim, a 27-year-old male, both residents of Kurna quarters in Fagge Local Government Area, Kano State
On Wednesday, the police spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sodiq, made a statement indicating that law enforcement officials had recovered a vehicle suspected to be stolen, along with a cash amount of ₦1,000,000, three mobile phones, one power bank, and a set of keys from the suspects, which were presented as evidence.
The State Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, praised the officers for their dedication to enforcing the law and demonstrating a commendable level of integrity.
He also reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens within the state, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a high standard of integrity and respect for human rights.
Ongoing investigations are being conducted to determine the degree of the suspects’ involvement in criminal activities. Additional updates will be provided as the investigation advances.
